The Lathrup Village Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is dedicated to the physical and economic development of properties located within the district. The mission of the Lathrup Village DDA is to undertake public improvements that have the greatest impact to strengthen the downtown area and attract new investments. The DDA functions to assist businesses and homeowners in the district.

The Downtown Development Authority is governed by a Board of Directors, appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The DDA Board is comprised of residents, business owners, and elected officials who volunteer their time to improve the community.

The Lathrup Village DDA was created in 1998 and is authorized by Act No. 197 of the Public Acts of 1975 of the State of Michigan. All records of the DDA and copies of official Board of Directors meetings minutes are available for review at City Hall.
